perfectly fitting yoke…a light burden ? was He serious?

April 8th, 2008 · 1 Comment

“He will guide them to springs of the water of life, and God will wipe away ever tear from their eyes.” Revelation 7:17

Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke fits perfectly, and the burden I give you is light.”

I read this and contemplate what exactly did Christ mean when He said these words,

I sit here in the hospital PICU staing through the plastic at my daughter and can only wonder what it must have been like for God - the Father to gaze down through the plasticity of the clouds at His Holy Son - a Son sinless - and set-apart - condemned to die  …

Many of us often find it difficult to find God’s purpose in our lives - and today I am there as well.  What purpose has God brought forth in the life of the Kelley Family for such a time as this…

One thing I know for sure - we are to pray and know that God has acted - we are to Pray and Know that God has moved.  We are to Pray and Be Sure that God’s hand is on His children…

the Yoke is easy says our Lord - the burden Light.    - This is so true if we cast all our Cares on Him - because He Cares for us.

Pray with us in thankfulness that Jesus has already begun the work of healing our daughter Amelia.

Thank you — I will see you if not this week around Virtua - Saturday night…
